Building Tomorrow: How the Tribes Platform is Accelerating the Future of Regenerative Communities
I’ve spent most of my life looking for “my tribe”.
As I found my place in the regenerative movement, I found that the people I felt most connected to were community creators – people just as obsessed as I am with building and growing regenerative neighborhoods to save the planet.
I joined the Regen Tribe collective because we were on the same mission to:
Design a platform that would support regenerative neighborhoods both emerging and existing to thrive and connect to people, projects, and resources (Tribes)
Create an open source guide to the community creation process (Community Alchemy)
Let’s talk Tribes.
The Vision of the Tribes Platform
Tribes is the social networking platform that connects people, projects, and resources to build more regenerative neighborhoods.
If you are part of the regenerative movement, you are part of the global network we seek to connect. The main players of the movement often resemble scattered sets of jigsaw puzzles, each holding a few essential pieces that the other is missing. We’ve heard the request for this platform several times:
“We need an online space where we can all gather!”
“How do I connect to communities that I would want to live in? Where can I connect with other community builders?”
“Wouldn’t it be great if we had a platform where we could all connect and share about these things?”
What’s up, guys, we did it.
Tribes is designed to transform the scattered puzzle pieces of the regenerative movement into a cohesive network centered around the most single comprehensive solution to regenerating our world – living in a self-sufficient, local scale community with holistic regenerative design and practices.
Current Platform Features
Tribes beta is live and you can create a profile today.
It isn’t just an online community site you can host on any community platform. With a feature set that is specifically designed by community creators, tailored to the goals of different community archetypes, and developed by a team of community minded (and hearted) software developers, we wanted to create the ultimate platform for building more regenerative neighborhoods.
This is meant to be the nexus of the global movement building regenerative community land projects.
Here’s what Tribes beta currently offers:
Individual Profiles: individual users can create a profile and describe their dream community, as well as connect to the mycelium network of offers/needs.
Neighborhood Profiles: detailed neighborhood profiles that provide 67+ key metrics about communities, but aren’t just static listings. These are dynamic profiles that can be managed and updated by communities themselves — everything from pictures to investment documents.
Community Catalyzer (Education & Resources): an entire education corner of library forums, a database of open source resources organized by topics, and the Community Alchemy guide.
Biozones: Biozones connect regenerative neighborhoods that are close to each other. Here you can search by geographically relevant content
Regen Orgs: a directory of the organizations who directly contribute to building more regenerative neighborhoods and communities, which are also dynamic groups able to be owned by the orgs themselves
Event Calendar: a calendar of events niche to teaching skills, sharing experiences, and offering colives related to regenerative neighborhood building.
Social Interactions: the regular suite of social interactions such as DMs, notifications, likes, comments, connections, and follows.
Next Version Platform Features
We are in the middle of two processes: cleaning up the beta version on our whitelabel PHP, and designing the custom platform on React.
The next version of our PHP will have:
Myconet Smart Matching: AI-powered matching between communities, co-founders, and community members through our Regen Tribe tool, Myconet
Gamification: earn $HUGS, the Regen Tribe token, from interactions on the platform such as onboarding neighborhoods or adding resources
Online Learning Management System: an LMS that offers curated courses and trainings for how to find, build, and even consult regenerative neighborhoods.
The custom version of Tribes will have:
Service Provider Profiles: special profiles that allow orgs or individuals to offer their unique services that support the creation of regenerative neighborhoods (everything from governance consulting to building agroforestry food systems)
Bot Integration: receive customized support from our trained language model to assess the stage of the journey that you are at, and connect to the right resources and people à-la-AI
Community Funding Mechanism: This could be custom or an integrated tool, but we want to support neighborhoods being able to fund for their community directly through their profiles.
We are teaming up with Sante Kotturi from the Revillager app and other developers who live in and are actively building community. Find out how you can support these next versions.
How You Can Support Tribes
Sign up with just your name and email and voila, you have a profile. Add your picture, bio, and dream community information, then join the welcome groups and watch the orientation videos.
Donate to our Gitcoin Grant before November 29th
Just $1 in crypto can turn into $125, but hurry, there’s only 2 days left
Join the collective and our team of devs
We have a team of developers from the collective who are coming together to collaborate on this project. Does this excite you? Let’s be friends.
Give your feedback and suggestions in the feedback group
Share your experience about the platform. We are doing are best to fix bugs in a timely manner. Do you know of someone who is already trying to build a platform that is similar? Send them our way! If we collaborate, we can combine our resources to make these tools available to the global network sooner.
If you want to help more, spread the word about Tribes like wildfire (the kind of wildfire that renews the soil). A social platform is only as good as the people on it.
The Horizon
The need for regenerative, self-sufficient neighborhoods has never been more pressing. As we embark on this journey towards a regenerative society, remember that Tribes isn't just a social networking site—it's a next generation tool, an accelerator for regeneration.
Join the tribe to join the movement, and let's create a future where communities can flourish because all the pieces of the puzzle came together.
We are building a more regenerative world – one neighborhood at a time. Let’s get to it.
Hugs,
Nicole Reese
